Rocky Point is a town of about 40,000 people, 60 miles south of the Arizona border on the Sea of Cortez. Officially known as Puerto Peñasco, it is located only four leisurely driving hours from Phoenix or Tucson.

Rocky Point is in a free zone; no visas or special immunizations are required. Border officials conduct routine spot checks of vehicles entering Mexico. Mexico auto insurance is recommended and is available at insurance agencies in Phoenix, Tucson, Ajo, and Lukeville. Mexican gasoline is sold (in liters) at Pemex stations and is fine for American cars. It's not necessary to convert your dollars into pesos since virtually all businesses use U.S. dollars.

Casa Serena is located in the gated community of Las Conchas just outside of Rocky Point. Las Conchas is a gated beach community with 24-hour security and is the closest resort to Rocky Point. It has long been the favorite beach area for discriminating vacationers because of its security, quietness and close proximity to the town.

Casa Serena is about a mile from the guard gate at the end of a cul-de-sac that dead-ends at the beach. It is a very comfortable, private vacation house fronting on the beach walk-through about 50 feet from the beach. It has three bedrooms and two baths. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living roo and a crib onsite. Casa Serena has a full kitchen with dishwasher and appliances, and a large living area with lots of sofa seating. A VCR, DVD and CD player are provided with a collection of movies (many for children). There is central air conditioning and heat throughout.

LIVING ROOM
The living room has a large sectional couch and the sofa/sleeper couch for plenty of seating. We have a VCR and DVD, and a collection of approximately 50 movies (including classic, and lots of kids' movies) for you to watch. There is also a stereo/CD player.
BEDROOMS
The master suite has a king-size bed. It also has a private bath. The second bedroom has a king bed and shares a bath with a third bedroom with queen size bed. There is also a queen size sofa/sleeper in the living room. Linens are included on all the beds except for the sofa/sleeper.

DINING ROOM
There is a kitchen/dining room. A pass through window from the kitchen makes a convenient serving/sitting area for porch or outdoor dining.
KITCHEN
We have a large kitchen equipped with a full-size refrigerator, oven and stove, double sink, dishwasher, microwave and a wet bar. Accessories include a blender, toaster, coffee maker, etc. Pots and pans, dishware and glasses are provided.
OUTDOOR PATIOS
There are two ground-level, private outdoor patios, one front and one rear, with seating and a grill next to the kitchen area for your use. Up the steps is a very large sun deck with a espectacular ocean view. From here you can catch the nice breezes, watch for dolphins and pelicans, or just laze in the sun. Outside the door it is just a few steps to the best beach in Las Conchas!

Other Features

Casa Serena is just 18 miles on hard surface road to the new Mayan Palace, the largest resort in the world. Go for brunch or dinner. An International Airport is planned for 2007.
Tourism is the major industry in Puerto Peñasco. Accommodations are limited. Most hotels, restaurants, and businesses in Puerto Peñasco have English-speaking personnel.
Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco) has been a beach vacation spot for 50 years but has become very popular in recent years with improvement of the town and ever-expanding number of hotels, restaurants, resorts and unique shops. Rocky Point is famous for its superb food, beautiful sunsets and sea vistas, white sandy beaches, lots of recreational activities, and the warm hospitality of the Mexican community.
